As part of Gauravshali Sohala 2026, Marathi Kala Mandal Washington DC will honor distinguished community members whose lifelong service, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting contribution to the Marathi community in the DMV area.
The Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar is a special recognition created to honor individuals whose sustained contribution, service, and leadership have enriched the Marathi community in the DMV area.
It is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to those whose dedication helped build, support, and sustain the Marathi community in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.
Respected community members who have made a significant and lasting impact through leadership, volunteering, mentorship, cultural preservation, and service.
Marathi Kala Mandal will honor 4 to 5 deserving community leaders during Gauravshali Sohala 2026.
Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar is intended to respectfully recognize those whose life journey reflects extraordinary dedication to the Marathi community in the DMV area.
The Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar recipients will be selected through a community nomination and review process that reflects fairness, respect, and thoughtful consideration.
Please submit the nomination by May 31, 2026, 11:30 PM EST for individuals who have made significant contribution to the Marathi community in the DMV area.
Community members may submit names of deserving nominees along with a brief description of their contribution.
All nominations will be compiled and prepared for detailed review by the selection committee.
A selection committee will be formed to evaluate nominations and guide the final selection process.
The committee will assess nominees based on impact, service, leadership, and long-term contribution to the community.
The final 4–5 selected community leaders will be honored during Gauravshali Sohala 2026.
A dedicated selection committee will be constituted to ensure the nomination review is fair, balanced, and aligned with the spirit of the Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar.
The selection committee will be formed by Marathi Kala Mandal to review community nominations.
The committee will consider service, impact, dedication, leadership, and overall contribution to the DMV Marathi community.
The committee will recommend the final 4–5 awardees who will be honored during the celebration.
Nominees may include individuals whose contribution has positively influenced the Marathi community in the DMV region over the years.
Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar will be presented as one of the most special and meaningful moments of Gauravshali Sohala 2026 — celebrating 50 years of Marathi Kala Mandal and stepping into the 51st year.
Awardees will be honored in front of the wider community during the grand celebration.
The award will recognize years of commitment, leadership, and meaningful community contribution.
This recognition will celebrate the legacy these leaders have created for the Marathi community in the DMV area.
