जीवन गौरव पुरस्कार is intended to respectfully recognize those whose life journey

Nomination Process
The जीवन गौरव पुरस्कार recipients will be selected through a community nomination
and review process that reflects fairness, respect, and thoughtful consideration.
Nomination Deadline
Please submit the nomination by June 20, 2026, 11:30 PM EST for individuals who have made significant contribution to the Marathi community in the DMV area.
Step 1: Community Nominations
Community members may submit names of deserving nominees along with a brief description of their contribution.
Step 2: Nomination Review
All nominations will be compiled and prepared for detailed review by the selection committee.
Step 3: Selection Committee Formation
A selection committee will be formed to evaluate nominations and guide the final selection process.
Step 4: Evaluation
The committee will assess nominees based on impact, service, leadership, and long-term contribution to the community.
Step 5: Final Recognition
The final selected community leaders will be honored during Gauravshali Sohala 2026. The number of awardees will be determined by the Selection Committee.

Nomination Rules & Guidelines
To maintain fairness, transparency, and dignity of the जीवन गौरव पुरस्कार selection process,
all nominations will be reviewed according to the following rules and guidelines.
- Community-Based Nomination: Any member of the community may submit a nomination for a deserving individual.
- One Nomination Considered: If multiple nominations are received for the same person, they may be consolidated and treated as a single nomination during the review process.
- Duplicate Submissions: Multiple submissions for the same nominee will not increase the nominee’s chances of selection. Selection will be based on contribution, impact, and merit.
- Nomination Does Not Guarantee Selection: Submitting a nomination does not guarantee that the nominee will be selected for the award.
- Complete Nomination Details: Nominations should include the nominee’s full name, contact information if available, and a brief summary of their contribution to the Marathi community in the DMV area.
- DMV Marathi Community Focus: Priority will be given to individuals whose contributions have significantly benefited the Marathi community in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, preferably through or in support of Marathi Kala Mandal (MKM).
- Contribution-Focused Evaluation: The Selection Committee will consider long-term service, community impact, leadership, cultural contribution, mentorship, volunteerism, and overall dedication.
- Quality Over Quantity: Selection will be based on the significance, impact, duration, and consistency of contributions rather than the number of nominations received.
- Number of Awards: The number of जीवन गौरव पुरस्कार awards is not fixed. The Selection Committee reserves the right to determine or change the final number of awardees based on the quality, merit, and impact of nominations received.
- Verification of Information: The Selection Committee may verify nomination details, request additional information, and consider available facts during the review process.
- Confidential Review Process: Nomination details, committee discussions, and evaluation outcomes will remain confidential until the official announcement.
- Conflict of Interest: Any Selection Committee member with a conflict of interest related to a nominee may recuse themselves from discussions or voting related to that nominee.
- Final Decision Authority: The Selection Committee reserves the right to make the final decision regarding eligibility, evaluation, selection, and the number of awardees based on available nominations and facts. The committee's decision shall be final and binding.
- Award Announcement: Selected awardees will be announced and honored during Gauravshali Sohala 2026 on July 18, 2026.
- MKM Reserves the Right: Marathi Kala Mandal reserves the right to modify, clarify, or update the nomination and selection process as necessary to preserve the integrity, fairness, and spirit of the जीवन गौरव पुरस्कार.
